Limiting Love
As human beings we have natural tendencies to do things that displease God, for example to disobey Him. In our society, most of them know about the commandments of God, and that they are in the Holy Scriptures inspired by Him. However, at all levels it is observed that it is easier to disobey and ignore these commandments.
When we talk about love to many it is difficult for them to understand its deep meaning, and that is when it is much easier to hate. This is the consequence of a lack of learning in life, ignoring what the Lord teaches us and that is written in the Bible and that as Christians we have the obligation to make it ours. Those who do not love tend to build walls not only spiritual to isolate themselves from others, but also love the walls to show their own lordship. Those who do not know about God’s love go to drugs to live unreal worlds, others love to create divisions between people lying piece by piece to achieve their personal goals that are never what God wants from us.
In the world of politics they like discord and attract their followers with discourses disguised with good intentions but intrinsically devoid of common sense and Christian values. It is very sad to observe that for some it is more important to be elected or reelected by appealing to nationalism that is based on prejudices that ignore that God created a humanity that is egalitarian in the deep. The message of Christ is a mandate to go with His Word to all the world and not to concentrate within walls.
In these years we are seeing a loss of values that leads the community to an extreme egocentricity facilitated by digital devices that promote selfies etc. The differences between those who hold power and education and the majority of the poor and undocumented immigrants are abysmal. The countries from which most undocumented immigrants come are not able to offer the possibilities of decent work that the USA has. But while for years politicians have been unable to find a solution to the human and economic problem, the millions of undocumented workers who work today live with the constant threat of deportation.
The Christian values in this nation can not be limited to being a word of good upbringing, but something that materializes in the life of each one with real testimonies. Supporting the deportations of people who only come to work and try to live with dignity is immoral because the love of God is unknown. “Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him.” “If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.” 1 John 4:8-9 / 20-21 ESV
America is well known in the world for being a country that has many possibilities that are not available in other latitudes. Our Lord is God who also gives many possibilities to those who love Him, because then He does not give possibilities to those most in need? Selfishness is not Christian. The decision depends on those who govern, but they must not forget that citizens choose. A Christian should not support those who do not take Christ into account. If you are doing it, it is time to meditate conscientiously about the spiritual basis of life. Do not limit to love. May God Bless you.
