Choose to believe His word
We are God’s children (Galatians 3:26) and blessed in every aspect of our lives!
“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.” (2 Corinthians 8:9)
God’s Word teaches us that Jesus never lacked for anything in His life. Whatever He needed at the moment, whether paying taxes or feeding five thousand, He was supplied by his Father. Yes, He was wealthy! His attention was never on money. If He needed anything, He knew His Heavenly Father would supply. He had enough money that Judas was appointed His treasurer. We all know that if you’re poor and without, you don’t need a treasurer. But on the cross He took on the curse of poverty and the sins of the world so that we could be forgiven and blessed (prosperous).
Why do so many Christians get irritated when a minister preaches/teaches on the subject of money? Could it be that the devil wants to keep us without and not have a spiritual understanding about God’s blessings? Maybe, we need to meditate more on God’s word allowing Him to open our heart and eyes and set us free from a poverty mentality! Remember, “Jesus came to give us life, and life more abundantly!”
I believe it all comes down to priorities. God’s word instructs us to not worship money, but instead worship Him who lovingly supplies all our needs. Money isn’t the enemy, but if it consumes our thinking to the point we worship it, then it becomes a sin. We are not to be greedy! The Bible says that the “love” of money is a sin, not money itself. (1 Timothy 6:10) Money pays the electric and water bills, helps feed the poor and supports the gospel of Jesus whether in local churches or foreign missions, etc. If God speaks to you to give someone a financial gift to help pay their electric bill, how can you do it if you don’t have anything?
“God supplies all our needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
We should look to God’s word and listen to the Holy Spirit. God desires to set us free from lack and receive all He has for us, spiritually and materialistically. I don’t know about you, but I want everything He has for me!
He desires to take care of our every need! He’s the God of more than enough! Let’s believe His word and refuse to listen to the devil who comes to “steal, kill, and destroy” every part of our lives.
Let’s choose to live a God-centered blessed and prosperous life and keep our focus on Jesus, not our problems.
Today, let’s “Give thanks (to God) with a grateful heart” for everything we have and the needs He will supply for us. Let’s choose to believe His Word!
