The Message

Learning to wait on God

Are you getting weary waiting?

“So then, my dear friends, stand firm and steady...”  (1 Corinthians 15: 58)

“Wait for the Lord and keep His way, and He will exalt you to inherit the land; you will look on when the wicked are cut off.”  (Psalm 37: 34)

Sometimes when we’ve prayed about a particular situation, we find ourselves waiting for God to answer.  This can be a bit exhausting and discouraging.

We question ourselves, “Is He having to make up His mind?  Is He contemplating whether to answer or not?  Is He too busy for me?” Absolutely not!  He loves us and desires to answer every request!

Friends, there are many reasons we experience the waiting periods.

He’s usually teaching us to grow spiritually so we will learn to lean on Him, and trusting that He knows what’s best.

“But they that wait on the Lord will renew their strength.  They will rise on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not grow weak.” (Isaiah 40:31)

Learning to lean on God in faith and trust develops a deep spiritual maturity in us.  As we grow in His Word, we learn to trust Him in every aspect of our lives.  When we don’t get an immediate answer, we don’t fall apart thinking God is angry with us.  No, we choose to stand firm and trust Him in truth!

“I will watch for the Lord; I will wait confidently for God, who will save me.  My God will hear me.”   (Micah 7:7)

Recently I’ve been praying about several matters concerning my life and my family’s lives. Have I seen an answer manifested yet?  No.  Am I discouraged?  No, not at all! I know, that I know, that I know, He loves me, desires to bless me, and answer each prayer!  I’m confident of my relationship with my Father God. I’m His child!

Yes, I’m very confident that He will answer!  Presently, I know He’s working “behind the scenes” on my behalf.  I might not be able to see my answer yet, but I know He’s answering my prayers!   I choose to trust Him!

What I learned is He never forgets or ignores me!  He doesn’t punish me if I’m not perfect!  When I sin, He immediately forgives!  This is called unconditional love!

“I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning..”  (Psalm 130: 5-6)

I encourage you to keep trusting and expecting your answers!  Don’t allow discouragement to enter your life during your waiting period. Please utilize this time to pray, worship and give Him thanks!

He will answer, I promise!

Remember, prayer changes everything!  And when you pray, pray in the name of Jesus!  There’s power in His name!

Jesus is always the answer!  Jesus is always your answer!
