Food giveaway was a great success
The food giveaway was a great success. The already packed boxes were picked up at Concord Church. This is where the truck unloaded and was used as the distribution center. The person in charge was Dr. Delore Nelson. Some of the many helpers, were Carolyn Knowles, Joe Nelson, Attorney Constance Slaughter-Harvey, Rev. Shelton Thomas, his brother Dennis, the Barrett twins, and others. Special thanks to Beat One supervisor Jackie Bradford who was the tow motor driver. Jackie reminded me that driving a tow motor was a job he had held for 25 years before becoming a supervisor.
Crudup Ward gave away food on last Tuesday June 9. Distribution now has satellite centers. Midway is now one of the satellite centers.
