Rev. Randy Lewis celebrates 50th birthday
Midway M. B. Church Pastor’s Installation Program will be held, Sunday, August 12th at 2:00 p.m. The new pastor to be installed is Rev. Wesley Griffin of Carthage, MS. Rev. Bobby Sinclair of Community of Grace Baptist Church, 1809 W. Atkinson Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin will deliver the Installation Message. A charge to the pastor will be done by Rev. Vorneal Lipsey, Sr. He is the pastor of Christian Union Baptist Church on Red Dog Road, Carthage, MS and New Jerusalem, Baptist Church on Highway 43. A charge to the church will be done by Rev. Kelly Miller of Jones Chapel M. B. Church of Carthage. MS
Rev. Randy Lewis celebrated his 50th birthday on last Saturday at his home on Frank’s Lane. His birthday celebration was also a memorial to his twin Sandra Lewis Johnson and his niece Sheil Lewis. Many family and friends attended. They had a wonderful time.
Sympathy to the Spivey and Craft family in the passing of Austin Terrel Spivey. His visitation was last Friday at Mapp Funeral Home and his graveside services were at Good Hope M. B. Church Cemetery. Rev. Curtis McAfee officiating. Please remember the family in your prayers.
Glad to know that Brenda Nickols is home. After being involved in a head on accident on Highway 16 on last Friday she had spent the night in University Medical Center. She is doing ok.
Sympathy to the Hughes family in the passing of Clovis Hughes. His services were held at Mapp Funeral Hom on last Monday. His interment was in the Veteran’s Cemetery, Newton, MS. Remember the family in your prayers.
Scott Central Football team is doing a fundraiser. They are selling washing detergent and garbage bags. Please help by purchasing some. The team last year really did an excellent job, making it a winning year.
The Youth Feeding Program at Midway M. B. Church is open until July 31. Food will be served from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. Any youth 18 and under are welcome to come and have a refreshing meal.
