Runoff election is Tuesday
There will be a runoff between Mike Espy and Cindy Hyde-Smith on November 27th. Each person is asked to go to their precinct and vote for the candidate of their choice. Remember every vote counts. The courthouse will be open for absentee voting on November 24th from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Even if you did not vote in the first election which was held on November 6th, you can vote in this upcoming election November 27th.
Congratulation to Scott Central Football team who won their game against Eupora High School on last Friday Night in Eupora. The score was 28-14. Midway is proud of all of its coaches especially of, Deacon Tevin Nickols and some players from the community, Dejerrious Black and Zaharrie Kincaid.
Scott Central Football team will be playing Calhoun City High School this Friday Night at Scott Central. The game will start at 7:00 p.m. Please support the team by filling up the bleachers, showing your support of Scott Central Football Team.
Midway M. B. Church Choir Celebration was held during regular service last Sunday. Following the services everyone enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving meal. The menu consisted of; Chicken and dressing, Collard Greens, turnip greens, green beans, Macaroni and cheese, turkey, spiral cut ham, fried chicken, potato salad, candied yams, corn bread, rolls, cranberry sauce, homemade pound cakes, potato pies, egg pies, sweet tea, pink lemonade and bottled water.
Many thanks to the people who prepared food, or brought ingredients to prepare other dishes. Many thanks to the ones who worked so diligently making the fellowship hall festive and beautiful. And lastly many thanks to those who cleaned up the fellowship hall, took out the garbage and made the fellowship hall as pristine as it was before the Thanksgiving Celebration started.
Sympathy is given to the Murray family in the passing of Elder Roy T. Murray. Elder Murray was 93 years old land had founded and pastored two churches in Forest. They were Murray Temple later named Greater Deliverance and Murray Temple Rebirth.
His services were held at Greater Deliverance C.O.G.I.C. in Forest. His interment was at the Murray Temple Rebirth C.O.G.I.C. in the Lone Pilgrim Community.
Sympathy to the Willis family in the passing of Joe Willis. His services were held on last Friday at Mapp Funeral Home Chapel. His interment was in Lovelady Cemetery.
Sympathy to the Kincaid Family in the passing of Dathel Kincaid. Her services were held at Mt. Zion M. B. Church in Ludlow. Her interment was in Mt. Zion M. B. Church Cemetery.
Our prayers and get-well wishes are extended to the Johnson Family. Willie Rogers Johnson has been in Baptist Hospital for the last three weeks. He has had to have two surgeries and is in intensive care. Remember him and his family in your prayers.
Minnie Pearl Strong is in the hospital in Jackson. Remember her and her family in your prayers.
Juanita Odom Banks no longer lives in the Midway Community. She has relocated her place of residence to Brandon, MS. Remember her in your prayers. Her residence is up for sale.
Midway M. B. Church will celebrate Christian Education Recognition Day on December 9, 2018. Dr. Locord Wilson will chair the program.
