A request to those churches who have members of their church or lives in the communities where the church is located, Please open your hearts and help the government employees who are having to work and not be paid.
I have read where mortgage companies are not going to foreclose their homes. Food stamps might be uncertain in March for every receiver. Those who receive food stamps for January and February, in January spend them very selectively and wisely because you might not get any in March. You need to prepare now to eat in March. If you cook your meals yourself, you can stretch your food budget. Pre-package, pre-cooked, and microwavable food cost more than food you cook yourself.
A very good course that needs to be taught now, my first suggestion is in the churches. “How my parents and or myself survived the Depression.” These people had to learn to live with little or no money and survive. How they raised, produced and canned their own food. Also remember that they did not have freezers to keep their food in so it had to be canned in jars and preserved, to be eaten later.
Vernita “Ollie” McClendon was air lifted from Lackey Hospital to St. Dominic Hospital last week. She was put in ICU. She is doing better and has been moved to a room on last Saturday. Remember her and her brothers, Lonnie Archie and W.C. McClendon in your prayers.
Prayers go out to Tim White who was hospitalized in Morton. Remember him his wife Shelia and his children in your prayers.
Went out to dinner at Penn’s with Dr. Locord Wilson, Tom Wilson, Leslie Ross, Dejerrious Black, Charles McClendon and Billy Watts, while there we ran into the Committee to Elect Tony Sanders as the Supervisor for Beat 5. Learned that all the people running for elected positions in the county are posted on the window of the Circuit Clerk’s office. The list announces the position and the people who are running for that position.
Rev. Neal Keeton was laid to rest on last Saturday. His services were held at his home church as well as the church he has pastored for the last 15 years, Mt. Carmel M. B. Church in Morton. Wolf Funeral Home of Morton was entrusted with his arrangements.
Remember with your prayers all our sick and shut ins. Willie Rogers Johnson, Percy Shepard, Cora Odom Peavy, Willie Peavy, Chiquita McClendon Myers, Shawanna Matheney, Glenda McKee, and Fredia Ward Gales
