Father’s Day Programs coming this month
Midway M. B. Church Father’s Day Banquet will be held on the third Sunday immediately after morning service. The ladies are preparing and paying for the meal. The men are asked to come and enjoy the celebration.
The Father’s Day Program chairman and co-chairman are Shelia White and Nikki McClendon. The Father’s Day Program will be presented during regular service.
Dr. Locord and Thomas Wilson spent last weekend in Houston, TX attending their granddaughter Jayla Greer’s graduation from Junior High School to High School. Jayla graduated with highest honors. They had a wonderful time.
Pam Harper Banks and her Harper Family spent the week in Gatlinburg, TN. It is reported that they had a wonderful time.
Sympathy to the Clark Family in the passing of James “Bo” Clark. He was memorialized last Sunday at Forest Elementary School. His interment was beside his beloved wife Pearl in Eastern Cemetery. Since Pearl’s transition, “Bo” spent a lot of his time at the cemetery just visiting. Mapp Funeral Home was entrusted with his arrangements.
James Clark will be remembered as a Hawkins High School graduate, Alcornite, teacher, coach, Athletic Director for Forest Schools, bus driver, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity member, City of Forest Alderman, father to Vincent and a friend to many.
Sympathy to the Thomas Family in the passing of Johnny “Red” Thomas. He is tentatively scheduled to be eulogized on Saturday. Mapp Funeral Home is entrusted with his arrangements.
Sympathy to the White Family in the passing of Angela White. She was one of Maeola White’s triplets. Her arrangements are incomplete at my deadline.
Maude Williams is in Intensive Care at St. Dominic Hospital. Remember her and her family in your prayers.
Get well wishes are extended to Jerry Williams. Jerry is scheduled to have surgery.
Cora Ealy Odom is in the hospital in Forest. Remember her and her family in your prayers.
Katie Mae Odom Kincaid has been in the hospital. She is home now being cared for by her daughter Brenda. Remember them in your prayers.
Congratulations to Jerry McBeath. He officially retired on May 9th.
Congratulations to Shelia Sanders Towner who finished her 15 rounds of chemotherapy on last Friday. I am a living example that says you can survive chemotherapy and live on. Keep on keeping the faith in the man up above. If it is his will you can and will make it.
Sending prayers to Bettie Nell Banks White. She is in the Rehabilitation Center. She is doing some better. Remember her and her family in your prayers.
Congratulations to Tevin Nickols who has just spent seven days on a cruise. He sailed out of New Orleans. One of his stops was in Cozumel, Mexico.
Happy Birthday to two of my grandsons. Innaius turned 10 on June 1. He spent his birthday moving from Cleveland, MS back to Forest. Khaleb will turn 11 on June 30.
Patty Odom recently explained about the need for an adequate Census count. She explained how important it is to be counted. The county and state federal funds are determined by how many people are counted in the area census. Again, it is so important to be counted. They are also taking applications for Census workers. You may check online for more information.
