Softball practice is about to begin

Midway Park is preparing to practice soft ball with the children in the community.  Dewayne Cox, and Chiquita Myers have agreed to be coaches for the teams.  They will begin practice Thursday evening 5:00 pm at the park. You may contact Dewayne Cox (601-625-8782) for more practice schedules.

Marty Shepard is embarking on a new endeavor. He has plans to open his own car lot. It will be located on Watson Drive, Forest.  He has a Mustang up for sale.

Pastor/Rev. Wesley Griffin’s First Year Anniversary will be held August 11th at 2:00 pm at Midway M. B. Church. The colors are purple and black.  Rev. Keith Berry will be the guest speaker.

Congratulations to Pastor Griffin and First Lady Marilyn Griffin on the purchase of their new two-story home in Carthage. According to the pictures, it is really beautiful. Again congratulation on your success. 

Midway M. B. Church annual revival will be held beginning August 18th. The speaker for the week will be Rev. Marvin Miles of Galilee M. B. Church, Carthage.  Sunday’s colors are Turquoise and Black. 

Midway M. B. Church is participating in the Crudup Ward Summer Feeding Program.  Meals will be served daily, 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm.  Every child is welcome to come and participate in the program.

Sympathy to the Lyles, Odom and Williams family in the passing of Bonnie Jean Lyles, Odom Williams.  Her services were held last Tuesday at little Rock M. B. Church. Her interment was in Midway M. B. Church Cemetery.  Mapp Funeral Home was entrusted with her arrangement.

Sympathy to the Boatman family in the passing of Veronica Boatman.  Her services are incomplete at my press deadline.  Mapp Funeral Home is entrusted with her arrangements.

Sympathy to the Youngblood Family in the passing of R. J. Youngblood.  His services are incomplete at my press deadline.  Mapp Funeral Home is entrusted with his arrangements.

Sympathy to the Bradford family in the passing of Kenneth “Kent” Bradford.  His arrangements are incomplete at my press deadline.  Evans Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with his arrangements.

Sympathy to the Harper family in the passing of James “Jimmy” Harper.   His services were held last Sunday at Forest Elementary School Auditorium.  Mapp Funeral Home was entrusted with his arrangements.

Sympathy to the Davis Family in the passing of George Davis. His services are incomplete at my deadline.  Mapp Funeral Home is entrusted with his arrangements.

Sympathy to the Gatewood Family in the passing of Charles Gatewood.  His services were last Saturday at the Chapel. His interment was Little Rock M. B. Church Cemetery.  Holifield Funeral Home was entrusted with his arrangements.

Sympathy to the Patrick Family in the passing of James Patrick.  His services were last Saturday at the Chapel.  His interment was Union Grove U. M. Church Cemetery, Steele.  Holifield Funeral Home was entrusted with his arrangements.

Sympathy to the Cary Family in the passing of Jimmie Cary.  Services are scheduled for Saturday, July 27 at Rising Chapel M. B. Church.  Holifield Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
