Choir Day is October 27
The 2019 Midway Fall Festival will be October 26th, located at Midway Park at 5835 Midway Odom Road, Forest. Festivities start at 8:45 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m. There will be a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk anyone who has suffered breast cancer, has a family member who has suffered breast cancer or anyone who would love to participate in the walk or walk to support the walk is very welcome to come and participate.
Midway Men including the pastor will be participating in the cook off. Come and put your talent of cooking in friendly competition with the pastors in the Cookoff, Cake Walk, Candy, Volleyball, Free Food, Games, Prizes, Tug of war, Horseshoes, and Trunk or Treat. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the fun and fellowship. Please bring your children.
Breast Cancer Awareness was held at Midway M. B. Church last Sunday during regular service. Sister Sylvia Kennedy presented the presentation on Breast Cancer Awareness.
After service on last Sunday the Mission members and others, along with the pastor visited sister Juanita Banks at the care facility where she now resides in Brandon. Some participating in this visitation were: pastor Wesley Griffin, Deacon Tevin Nickols, Bro. Tom Wilson, Brenda Nickols, Carol Stowers, Alice McCarter, Annie Stowers, Sylvia Kennedy, Chelsey McClendon, Maxine Gilmore, Constance McClendon, Teresa Needham, Mandy McBeath, and Sandra Faye McClendon.
I have received two invitations from Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc, Nu Phi Zeta Chapter asking for donations to aid in their Scholarship Program Fund Raiser. My letters came from Carolyn Knowles and Dr. Lorraine Riley, if at all possible please donate. You may reach either one through their Facebook page. You may inbox each one there for more information.
Learning with a Snack is a tutoring program at the Midway Freewill Baptist Church. After School Feeding and Tutoring Program for ages 5 – 15 years of age, every Monday and Thursday of each week from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. All students are welcome.
Midway Freewill Baptist Church Choir Day will be October 27 at 2:00 pm. Come and help them give Praise in Song and Worship. They are inviting all Choirs, Praise Teams, Mimes, Praise Dancers, Groups and Soloists. They ask that you render an A and B selection. Register upon arrival.
Midway M. B. Church will celebrate Thanksgiving Dinner a little early. Dinner will be served on November 17th immediately after service. Everyone is invited to attend.
Sympathy to the Nicks in the passing of Betty Nicks. Her services was held on last Saturday at Little Rock M. B. Church. Her interment was in the church cemetery. Holifield Funeral was entrusted with her arrangements. Bettye Mae Nicks, the mother of Scott County School Board Member and retired educator and farmer, Greg Nicks. His siblings are: Larry Nicks, Ethel Nicks Thomas, James Nicks, and Janet Nicks Williams.
Sympathy to the Patrick Family in the passing of Annie Patrick. She was eulogized on last Saturday at Mapp Funeral Home Chapel. Her interment was Lovelady Cemetery. Mapp Funeral Home was entrusted with her arrangements.
Sympathy to the Hughes Family in the passing of Joyce Hughes. Her services and interment were at Lone Pilgrim M.B. Church. Mapp Funeral Home was entrusted with their arrangements.
