Sunday School Rally is this Sunday

Midway MB Church will host its Annual Sunday School Rally on January 26 starting at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 10:00 a.m. Everyone is invited to come and share the Word, the prizes, and the food. Those who will do presentations are: Constance McClendon, Brenda Nickols, Patty Odom, Jennie Clay, Leslie Ross, Pam Banks, Tom Wilson, Delie Shepard, Lorraine Dozier, Sylvia Kennedy, Annie Stowers, Alice McCarther, Jewaun Ross. Rev. Wesley Griffin is the pastor. Dr. Locord Wilson is Director of Christian Education.

There will be a benefit given in honor of our past First Lady Sister Venita Whittington on February 29 at 6:00 PM at Jones Chapel MB Church. Rev. Kelly Miller is the pastor.

Sympathy to the Holifield family in the passing of Ebony Holifield. Her services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Temple Rebirth Church of God in Christ in Hillsboro. Her interment will be in the church cemetery. There will be no public viewing. Holifield Funeral Home is entrusted with her arrangements.

Sympathy to the Moore family in the passing of centurion Mr. Oliver Moore. His services were held last Saturday at Galilee MB Church down 501 S. His interment was in the church cemetery. Mr. Moore is the last of his siblings. His brother passed last year, Mr. Hilton Moore, who was also a centurion. His sister Mrs. Sims was also a centurion at 104. Mapp Funeral Home was entrusted with his arrangements.

Sympathy to the Harper family in the passing of Gary Harper. His services were held last Saturday at New Bethel MB Church Forest. Mapp Funeral Home was entrusted with his arrangements.

Sympathy for the Robertson family in the passing of Willie Robertson. His services will be Saturday at Mapp’s Funeral Home Chapel. Mapp Funeral Home is entrusted with his arrangements.

Sympathy to the Anderson family and the passing of Kimberly Anderson. Her arrangements are incomplete at my deadline. Services are entrusted to Mapp funeral home.

Percy Shepard spent several days in St. Dominic Hospital. He is home now.

Learning with a snack is a tutoring program at Midway Freewill Baptist Church. After school feeding is in their program for ages 5 to 15 every Monday and Wednesday of each week from 3 p.m. till 6 p.m. All students are welcome. Rev. Cory Bender took the children on a excursion to Mississippi Black History Museum in Jackson. All the children said they had a wonderful time and learned a lot.

Care facilities: Deacon Oliver Holifield at Newton and Jerome Banks at Magnolia Manor Forest.
