The Scott county 4-H Awards Banquet is scheduled for January 24, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the MSU/Scott County Extension Service facility. Congratulations to: Katie Measells on the occasion of her 90th Birthday Anniversary. Her many years of dedicated teaching/counseling have enriched the lives of countless students. Personal best wishes for God’s richest blessings throughout the year.
Local area athletes chosen as the Best of MSPREPS as members of the 2018 Clarion Ledger All-State Football First Team. They are, Carson Williams of Scott Central High School and Javeious Purvis of Pelahatchie High School.

Travelin’, visitin’ and such: Katie Measells was honored with a celebration of her 90th Birthday on December 22 (birth date December 24th, 1928). Her children Clark and spouse Nenette of Tennessee, Melodie of Arkansas and Becky Moss and spouse Jeff surprised her with this celebration reception. Grandchildren Abby, Kathryn and Jarrett assisted with the event. This beautiful, ever youthful, lady was surrounded by other family members and friends ans was the recipient of many varied gifts and greeting cards.
Chester and Shirley Sawyer have returned from several days on a recent trip to Branson, Missouri with lodgings in their Time Share Condo. Some of the entertainment attractions that are in Christmas mode at this time enjoyed by them were, the Samson Epic, Hughes Brothers, Clay Cooper and movies at the IMAX Theater. They report enjoying fairly nice-but very cold while there.
