Reminder... Soup & Dessert “Eat In-Take Out” meal at Excel Learning Center, 383 South Fourth Street, Morton is scheduled for Wednesday, February 27.
Scott County MHV Council/Clubs will host the Annual Sub District/Five County meeting at The Activities Center, Farris Park, Morton on Wednesday, February 20. Leake, Scott, Simpson, Smith and Rankin County Councils/ Clubs will attend. Scott County clubs are responsible for decorations and will meet on Tuesday, February 19 at 4:00 p.m. Members of the Cluster, Harperville, Morton and Ringgold Clubs are asked to represent their club and assist with this activity. The theme is Heritage and will feature old photos of family ancestors and some small item/keepsake passed down in the family.
Congratulations to: The Robotics Team representing East Rankin Academy on winning the 2019 MAIS Overall Quiz Bowl following competition with Lamar School in the semi-finals and Jackson Prep in the finals. Team members are: Dylan Davis, Tyler Betts, Ethan Crain, Jackson Harper and Barron Burnham.

Mayor Mary Hawkins Davis made the presentation to the Rogers. We always take pride in the accomplishments of our Morton residents and their family members.
To: Thomas Nutt former member of the Scott County 4-H organization, now a member of the Pisgah High School FFA, on receiving a scholarship for his achievements during the Annual Dixie National Rodeo Livestock events. He is the son of Teddy and Zan Nutt.

Travelin’, visitin’ and such: The “Roller Coaster” weather we experienced over the last few days must have kept everyone pretty close to home, other than those enjoying the Wagon Train/Trail ride to the Dixie National Rodeo. It was delightful to see as they rode through town. Have a safe adventure during this 2019 event.
