Announcements: The 4-H Workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2 at 4 p.m. This is the opportunity to find out about rules and what is needed to prepare for the contests 4-H members wish to enter. The meeting will be held at the MSU/Scott County Extension Service facility, 230 Davis Street, Forest. To attend the workshop pre-registration must be made by March 29. The 4-H Talent and Fashion Revue Contest will be held on Tuesday, April 16 beginning at 6 p.m. Fashion Revue contestants will have the opportunity to model in the clothing construction and the clothing selection categories with age divisions: Clover Buds (5-7); Junior (8-13); and Senior (14-18). Both Junior and Senior 4-H members must be in the proper age group with birthdays as of January 1. For more information concerning forms, rules, etc. call the above number.
The deadline for purchasing tickets ($15) to the Morton Chamber of Commerce Career Women’s Luncheon is Tuesday, April 16 for the event scheduled for Wednesday April 24. Tickets are available at Morton City Hall, Morton finance or by Email-lisa.alford104@yahoo.com.

To: Breein Tyree on being named to the United States Basketball Writers Association team. A junior member of the Ole Miss basketball team he was also named to the SEC 1st team by the conference coaches and SEC 2nd team by the AP.
To: The MSU women’s basketball team on hosting the first found of the NCAA Tournament and advancing to the Sweet 16 Tournament in Portland, Oregon by defeating Southern and Clemson.

More than 40 gathered for the Lenten Luncheon held at Morton UMC last Wednesday and were inspired by a beautiful presentation by Rev. Sheila Cumbest, an Associate Minister at Christ UMC, Jackson, good food and fellowship.
Kathy Warren, Betsy Comfort, Mel and Frisky Roland were among some Morton residents who attended the Production “Mary Poppins, Jr.” at Newton Little Theater. Kathy’s granddaughter, Madyson Warren, exhibited exceptional talent in the role of Bert The Chimney Sweep along with a cast of other very talented actors, vocalists and dancers. The evening was enhanced by dining out with several members of Madyson’s family and friends following the play. She is the daughter of Brent and Tracey Warren and is a senior at Newton County High School in Decatur.
