The Excel Learning Center is offering classes in Crocheting and Pottery. The Crocheting classes are October 10 - November 14 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The fee for this class is $30. The Pottery Class will be on October 30 and November 6 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. taught by Donna Vosburg. A fee of $40 will cover materials.
The Scott County Woman’s Auxiliary Minister Wives & Widows will host its Annual Scholarship Banquet on October 28, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.
Pleasant Hill M.B. Church will be celebrating their Church Anniversary on November 19, 2017 more details to come.
A Home Going Service was held on October 21, 2017 for Deacon John D Brown at Lone Pilgrim M.B. Church. Deacon Brown was a member of Forest Lodge #142.

Vistin: Jimmie and Peggy Lewis were in Atlanta Georgia October 13-16 2017 visiting their daughter Rosiland McCoy. Mrs. Maureen Minor traveled with them. While in Atlanta they attended the 27th Pastoral Anniversary of Pastor William, Sr. & First Lady Sylvia Flippin of The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church. Hank Stewart the poet was in attendance. The message was brought by Rev. Christopher Williams.
Food For Thought: If our hearts are pure, the rest of our lives will be pure also. We will be humble not only in our actions but also in our thoughts. Our contentment will be exhibited in our speech as well as felt in our inner desires. Our compassion will not only be godly in the deeds themselves but also in the motives behind the acts. Our diligence in detail will be mirrored by the care we take of the hidden places of our hearts. The wisdom that we offer others will be lived out in our relationships with others. The world is filled with troubled people — people with so, much hurt, turmoil and sin beneath the thin veneer of their lives that they spread chaos and pain wherever they go.
