On November 24, 2019 we were able to attend services at Lone Pilgrim M.B. Church where I attended as a child. My brother Robert Matheny and wife Brenda were here visiting from South Carolina and were in attendance also. Rev. Timothy Croff spoke from 2 Timothy 1:7. Thanks for the warm welcome.
Food For Thought: Be thankful that we don’t already have everything we desire, if we did, what would there be to look forward to? Be thankful when we don’t know something, for it gives us the opportunity to learn. Be thankful for the difficult times, during those times we grow. Be thankful for our limitations, because they give us opportunities for improvement. Be thankful for each new challenge, because it will build our strength and character. Be thankful for our mistakes, what a valuable lesson we learn from them.
It’s easy to be thankful for the good things. A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for their setbacks. Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive. Being thankful for our troubles can become a blessing.
One of the beautiful things about Thanksgiving is that it gives us a specific time to reflect on the wonderful blessings that we enjoy — friends, family our freedom to worship God. To our readers we appreciate you. Be safe and have a “Happy Thanksgiving.”
