Food For Thought: Yes, it’s that time again saying goodbye and welcoming in a New Year. Wow! 2020.
Looking back on the past year, as we start this new year we think about our loved ones, our friends, things that brought us joy, things that brought us to tears, love ones that didn’t make the new year with us etc. We tend to spend the first few days of the New Year thinking about things that we can improve on walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work that needs to be done.
Maybe this year we could not look for flaws, but for potential to improve ourselves, to love, to share, to appreciate and to be thankful for God’s Blessings. I would like to share this New Year’s Prayer with you.
Dear Lord, in the New Year, we pray that you will guide us each new day in paths that are pleasing to you. Lord, the New Year gives us another chance to rededicate our lives to you, to study your word so that we know right from wrong and to act in accordance with your commands. Thank You for the sense of direction, purpose and peace we get from aligning our lives with Your Holy will. We pray for strength and the will to obey you, each and every day of the year, and when we fail, we pray for Your Mercy, Your compassion, your grace and your love. Help us in the New Year to be one of your faithful servants. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
