Turbulent Times
Food For Thought: Every day we wake up is a reason to say “Thank you Father.”
Let’s face it. There are times when even the best of us get depressed. Right now, our country and us as individuals are going through some rough waters, and I don’t say this lightly. Right now, we feel emotional and spiritual bankrupt.
Times when nothing seems to be working. Times when pep talks from our friends don’t seem to be working.
During these troubling moments we begin to search ourselves. We are thinking I can’t do this. I can’t do that our hearts are torn. No matter how hard we try we can’t seem to replenish our strength, uplift our spirits.
But hold on, there is a way! There’s a way to empower ourselves, to end this confusion and regain our inner peace and tranquility. There’s a way to quiet the storms.
The answer is prayer! Prayer is the cornerstone where the weary rest and the dismayed find hope. Prayer is our opportunity to communicate with the source of all inspiration, the fountain of all wisdom. Prayer is the only way we can receive inner peace.
Psalm 31, O love the Lord, all ye his saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewarded the proud doer.
