On March 4, 2018, our morning message was brought by Rev. Marcus McDougle. Scripture taken from Psalms 23:4 Romans 5:3-5 with the subject Hope better days are coming.
Food For Thought: We know the book of Psalms is a book of prayer that embraces every experience possible to human beings. As we read Psalms 63, we see that David was a fugitive in the dessert of Judah. He was greatly distressed, He thirsted after God. We can identify with David’s thirst, but that may be where the parallel ends.
Unlike David, who fought on the side of God, often our enemies are the result of our personal failures. The thirst we have in common with David is worth looking into. We thirst for different things at different times, recognition, friends, a life mate, a home, children, a job, money etc. But most of all we thirst to love and be loved.
Jesus used earthly water to introduce living water, which alone can quench our thirsty hearts, no matter who we are. Today the invitation stills stands “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water that Jesus offers will never thirst.”
