Food For Thought: The Bible leaves no doubt that there is life after death. The earthly life is but an overture, a prelude of the reality to come. The dead who die in the Lord not only enjoy eternally the absence of unrest, pain and sorrow, but they also are rewarded. Their deeds will follow them. We are free to live our lives according to our own choices. But we have to keep in mind that there will be a future settling of accounts. All will justly be rewarded according to our deeds. The measuring staff will be administered according to our attitude toward the Lord Jesus Christ. True rest awaits only those who during their life on earth took God seriously. Without him there is no real rest, in the present or in the future.
