Food For Thought: As our Sunday School lesson stated, Ruth was very loyal to her mother-in-law. Naomi tried very hard to persuade her to leave. When bonded by a strong love and commitment to one another, people who are unrelated by birth may enter into a covenant relationship. Because Naomi was a noble lady of strong faith, Ruth was unconditionally committed to Naomi. Whether man or woman, we all ought to live in a way so that others will recognize us as family and want to stay committed to us even though we don’t share the same bloodline. Our mutual faith in God will drive and sustain these relationships.
