Food For Thought: I took a moment to look up the meaning of the word weariness. The definition said worn out in strength, endurance, vigor or freshness. Having one’s patience and tolerance. It almost sounds as if Mr. Webster were describing a busy mother. As we know weariness is not always limited to the physical. The spirit suffers as well. Our world is full of weary people. Many are beaten down by worry, disappointment and despair. Some find so little meaning in their lives that they wonder why they are existing, others are simply bored to death. Still others are frustrated spiritually because of moral defeats, weary of struggling with their heavy burden of guilt. As we know Christians are not immune to weariness, either external or internal. But the difference is we know to whom to go Jesus Christ and where to go his word for much needed rest and refreshment.
The rest that Christ gives is real and can be yours and mine.
