Sad day for America!
“Pen Party.” Pelosi reflects on her impeachment as a “A sad day for America,” but at her press conference on Thursday they videotaped her laughing, smiling and handing out multiple golden pens she used to sign the Articles of Impeachment! I loved one comment I heard, “Everytime we have to listen to her slosh her words around it is a sad day for America.”
“Politicians and diapers must be changed often and for the same reason.” — Mark Twain
“If a political party doesn’t have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and moral, then it’s not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.” (Dwight D, Eisenhower, 1956)
Take a little glimpse of what our President, Donald Trump has done. Average unemployment rate by presidents the first 35 months of their terms: Reagan 9 percent, W. Bush 5.5 percent, Obama 9.3 percent and Trump 3.9 percent. And remember our national debt when Obama took office — 6 trillion and when he left office 19 trillion. The 13 trillion add-on was the highest of any presidency.
I am thankful that we have a President that honors God and our flag! Sure, he does things I don’t agree with. After all, he is human!
Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something when the Bible clearly says, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure. — try to please everybody!
I finally did it! Bought a new pair of shoes with memory foam insoles. No more forgetting why I walked into the kitchen!
An old Cherokee Indian told his grandson, “My son, there is a battle between two wolves in us all. One is Evil — it is anger, jealousy, lies and ego! The other one is Good, joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy and truth!” The boy thought about it and asked, “Grandfather, which wolf wins?” The old man quietly replied, “The one you feed.” (Author unknown)
Sixty years ago, Johnny Cash played his first ever prison concert at San Quentin. In the audience was a 20 year old petty thief whose crimes didn’t fit being in a state prison. He had escaped local jails 17 times. Cash inspired the inmate to pursue a music career. This man’s name was Merle Haggard!
65,000 college students ring in 2020 New Year worshipping Jesus! Fox News, in Atlanta had this to say, “It’s not your typical College New Year’s Party. — more than 65,000 young Christians gathered in Atlanta Stadium to kick off a new decade of worship, prayer and Bible teaching. Over the next three days thousands of Millennials, GenZers, along with their church and campus leader, would fill up Mercedes Benz Stadium with Passion Founder, Louie and Shelly Giglio as host and music by the Passion Band. While a ‘Pew Research’ survey shows the Mones, or religious non-affialater Americans are screaming a decline in Christians over the last decade, this sold out conference seems to be outright defying that.”
Speaking of young college students, how about this? “Let me get this straight. If you cheat to get your family members in college, you go to jail! But, if you cheat to get your family members into the country, they get to go to college for free!”
One minute you’re young and having fun and the next, you’re turning down the stereo in your car to see better!
I had a great day on Sunday! Cooked lunch for part of my family, Brooke and Derek Crenshaw and girls, Luke and Tracy Thompson and Janet and Harry Culpepper. Unfortunately the Roberts family had one with the flu. Have to love them from afar when they are sick. It is wonderful to see the little babies (two under 13 months) often, and if I don’t, they change so much in such a short time!
Lord, please forgive us and our nation from drifting so far away from your commandments. We are in need of Your Devine intervention! Amen.
Have a blessed week and share it with someone who is having a difficult time in their life!
