Norris Quilters’ Annual Show
Norris Quilters will be at Mississippi Care Center, Morton, on March 12th at 2 PM, displaying some of their handmade quilts. The residents always enjoy seeing their beautiful work and visitors are welcome to drop in. This club has donated over 500 baby quilts to Blair Batson Hospital and Ronald McDonald House over the years. Congratulations to these ladies on the outstanding work they do.
Dates to Remember: 3/8 Daylight Savings time starts; 3/9 SRG Water Association Annual Meeting; 3/10 Primary Election; 3/12 Norris Homemakers Quilt showing.
SRG Water Association will be electing two directors. They will represent Ringgold and Good Hope members. Time is 7 PM at the County Courthouse. This association belongs to its members, so consider attending?
Primary voting day (3/10) is a very important day as we will be starting the process of electing our nation’s president. The run-off will be held on 3/31 and then the general election will be on 11/3.
As I write this, it seems that the Democrats are narrowing the choice of candidates. I don’t think those that support Bernie Sanders understand what socialism stands for. Here is an example: “Teach your kids about Socialism by making them clean the bathroom. Then pay them $10. Then take away seven of those dollars and give to their siblings, who didn’t do the work. I bet your child won’t be a socialist for very long!”
We have been raised to think that only politicians can solve our problems, but at some point, maybe we will wake up and recognize it was politicians who created our problems!
“Just another example of Socialism. This is an average of what people pay in Europe for their “Free Stuff.” Income Tax 53%; Sales Tax 21.2%; Gas (with tax included) $6.45.”
Did you watch “The Voice” this past week? Todd Tilghman, from Meridian, was a winner. He is a preacher and he and his wife have six children plus two adopted children. I did not see the show, but have looked at his performance on YouTube. If he gets in the finals, I hope Mississippi will support him. (I understand he has a way to go, but here’s hoping!)
Some more dates to look forward to: Spring is in 18 days; Easter in 42 days and Summer in 111 days. I wish I could add in number of days until the rain gives us a break!
We have a new business in town, Scotty’s Tire Service. Larry Smith (Earl Smith’s son) is the owner.
If MDOT would just hire the crew that builds the Dollar General stores, all highway properties would be done in two weeks!
Middle Age In A Nutshell. Wait, what did I come in here for? I could have sworn that was my password. Sorry, I forgot what I was going to say. Why is the print on these instructions so tiny? Who cares if it looks good? I’m comfortable. Has anyone seen my phone? Huh, I wonder how I got this bruise? Stupid scales, that can’t be right! Shoot, did I already take my vitamin? $5 for a box of cereal, they raised the price and shrunk the box, such a racket! Who is calling me at 9:30 p.m.?
A teacher pointed a ruler at my grandson and said, “At the end of this ruler is an idiot!” He got Detention for replying, “which end?”
EBC News: WOW March meeting — Thursday, 3/5, at 6:30 PM. Will be doing their Mission Planning. All ladies are invited, bring a favorite finger food and money for adopted child. As of last week, total for the children and teen’s Walkathon is $2,191.90.
Prayer needs; Jana Mayatt, Tanya Harrison, Ana Edwards, Sandy Butler, Keith Jones, Gary Risher and Jeanette Carpenter.
“When you get what you want, that’s God’s direction, when you don’t get what you want, that’s God’s protection!”
Have a God blessed week and
