Until further notice, no one can stop by unannounced; no one is sick, we just don’t trust you around our toilet paper! Remember, there was no shortage, until folks took more than they needed!
I saw a news clip last week, in large city, a business owner had individually wrapped toilet paper cases at the curb. Cars were lined up couple of blocks purchasing this one roll, per person limit, for $5 each! We are so blessed not to be that desperate! I cannot imagine living in a high rise, about 20 stories up, and trying to survive. They have no room to store things and with the shortages, it must be horrendous!
Walmart is reportedly on the news telling store hours across the USA. Hours being open adjusted to 7 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. This is to help associates restock their shelves. Customers will be limited in certain categories, including toilet paper products, milk, eggs, cleaning supplies, hand sanitizers, water, diapers, wipes, formula and baby food.
It has been wonderful how businesses and individuals have stepped up with feeding children in their time away from schools. Vowels is giving free breakfast and lunch and area schools are providing sack lunches. We have no idea how many children are hungry due to school closures.
The list goes on and on about helpful acts of concern and kindness. We learned that a local medical facility is short on face masks. Janet Culpepper and I got to work Sunday afternoon making masks. She cut and I sewed. It was good to have that time with my daughter too! We can all do something to help! Just calling checking on a person, who you may not regularly talk to, is a blessing to them and will be to you too!
While you are home, “Every few days try on your jeans just to make sure they still fit. Pajamas will have you believe, all is well in the kingdom!”
A note to those that this fits. If and when, President Trump orders stimulus checks, all you people who screamed that he is not your President, better put “Return to Sender” on that piece of mail! By the way, Nancy Pelosi is developing her own stimulus package to compete with President Trump; to the extent as to hurt the American public! She has a opponent in the upcoming election. Let’s all pray for that person.
And just like that Facebook has been taken over by churches everywhere. God has a plan! It was great to “have church” Sunday and still be at home. Another blessing was to see Diane Walker play “How Great Thou Art” on a video too! Preacher, Joel Olsteen had over four million households tuned to his service on Sunday. Many churches will offer their services on CD’s for those who do not have electronics to watch on. Now that God has our attention, it would be in our best interest, to listen!
When this is over, let’s remember it wasn’t the CEOs or billionaires who got us through, it was the nurses, janitors and food workers! Thankfully, this has not shut the farmers down and we owe them our thanks. Some people thinks it’s the grocery stores that provide our food. They are only carriers, our farmers and truckers are the backbone of our nation! I understand people are buying garden seed that have never had a garden before. I hope they are not thinking you can just throw down a seed and have a garden! You know that’s what Pete Bloomberg indicated!
Homeland Security has designated “Forestry and Wood” production an “Essential Industry.” I am happy for the timber industry as they have been through some rough times with extremely low prices and weather interruptions. Loggers have been especially hard hit!
Heard this cute story. A lady said, “I lost my cool the other day in Walgreens. A man was pushing a buggy loaded with hand sanitizers, wipes, disinfectant sprays, etc. I told him he should be ashamed. With a few, ‘unkind’ words I told him how sorry he was for hoarding all those health products. After my hysterical rage was over, he said, ‘Lady if you don’t mind, I need to finish putting up this stock on the shelves!’”
The constant news about the Coronavirus is good and bad for us to constantly hear. Good news is that I saw that 82,000 people who had it survived! To those who are complaining about the quarantine period and curfews just remember, that your grandparents were called to war; and you are being called to sit on the couch and watch Netflix. You can do this!
“And just like that — spanking and prayer is back in school. It’s called #homeschool2020.” Our prayers to all in this battle now. One person commented that teachers should be paid One Million dollars a year for putting up with everybody’s kids!
Quarantine is in the Bible. “Go home, my people, and lock your doors! Hide yourselves for a little while until the Lord’s anger has passed.”
Have a God blessed week and remember, this to will pass!
