EBC Pastor Appreciation celebration was a surprise event for Bro. Chris Harrison his wife Tanya and boys. As all good Baptist do, a fellowship meal was enjoyed by all. Thanks to Larry Driskell who designed and made a metal tree to hang monetary gifts and cards on. This was filled on every branch and presented to the family.
Prayer needs: Nancy Myers, Leroy Callahan, Tommy Williams, Paige Sessums, Renae Crimm, Dale Perkins and Charles Emmons. Sincere sympathy to the family of John Lynn in the loss of their loved one.
Mississippi Care Center is having a County Wide Senior Bingo Party, brunch included, on November 14th from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. This will be held at Farris Park. Come out and enjoy the fun and reconnecting with other seniors. Several from our church went last month and it was a good time by all.
Just read a disturbing article on sitting. “Sitting all day is equivalent to smoking a pack of cigarettes. Get up after an hour of sitting and walk for five minutes. (Good thing to set a timer) This stimulates your vital organs and makes the system function better.”
On the “Kelly and Ryan” show they had the winners of largest/longest, in the land, gourd family as follows: Pumpkin - 2,353 lbs (it was only 100 days old) Squash - 2,118 lbs ( this squash was 1/2 Pumpkin and 1/2 squash) Watermelon - 316 lbs; Gourd - 12 feet in length. I am not sure they are in gourd family, but they were BIG and LONG!
Ladies, if a man says “He Will Fix It”, he will. — There is no need to remind him every 6 months!
Caramel Apple Cobbler

Butter or oil a 9x13 inch pan, pour apple pie filling in pan, on top sprinkle dry cake mix over apples, drizzle caramel over cake mix and pour melted butter on top. Bake 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. (because of possible difference in ovens, check to see if it is done). Enjoy with maybe a bit of ice cream on top!
“Grief is like living two lives. — one is where you pretend that everything is alright and the other is where your heart silently screams in pain. When you are going through something hard and wonder where God is, remember that the teacher is always quiet during a test!”
Have a God Blessed week and share it with others!
