Another school shooting happened last Friday
“Overwhelming Grief” eight students, two teachers killed in Santa Fe High School in Texas school shooting. The gunman came in the first period of the school day. He said “surprise” and started shooting! This school had a plan, but it did not keep this student from taking 10 lives and wounding possibly 10 more. What must be done to keep the school's safe? The parent’s and resident’s of this area are upset over very limited coverage given to this horrific act. Has it got accepted as the “norm” of our time?
The Royal wedding has given Facebook use’s some tidbit’s of feedback. The one that certainly rings true is on Prince Charles’ wife, Camilla Parker Boles. The description of her hat was commented on quite a bit. Someone said, “A House somewhere is missing it's insulation!” That hit the nail on the head, as the old saying goes!
Mystery of failure on baking cakes — solved! I have heard several people complaining, myself included, on Duncan Hines cake “flops.” On comparing the old box weight of 16.5 oz. to newer weight 15.5 oz. I decided to call the customer service line of Duncan Hines. They said, “follow the printed directions and it should give same results, but if you are using a recipe that adds additional ingredients, you must adjust those to have good results. They took the lot and sell- by date and was going to check their production.

Cooking tips; (1) after stewing chicken, cool in broth before cutting into chunks, it will have twice the flavor.
(2) When boiling corn, add sugar instead of salt. Salt will toughen the corn.
(3) For a juicier hamburger, add cold water to the beef before grilling. 1/2 cup per pound.
(4) Potatoes soaked in salt water for 20 minutes before baking will bake more quickly.
(5) When cooking cabbage, place a small tin cup or can half full of vinegar on the stove, near the cabbage. It will as sorb the odor.
Have a blessed week!
