Robocalls
One day this past week I got 13 robocalls in a very short time. I have been searching a way to stop them! AARP has a very good article in their October 2018 magazine. Part of it says “Scammers and spammers spend about $438 Million Dollars on robocalls. Those calls generate more than 20 times that amount, almost $10 Billion. A freebie for virtually every landline user: press 77 to block ‘anonymous’ and ‘private’ numbers, then deactivate it anytime with *87.” (they also listed individual carriers free blocks and also apps that will filter your calls for a few bucks per month)
“Flu deaths on the rise for older Americans. More than 12,000 older Americans died from this disease during the last flu season starting Oct. 1, 2018. If you are 65 or older, make sure you are up to date with pneumococcal vaccines, which help prevent pneumonia, meningitis and sepsis. People with the flu are more likely to develop pneumonia”. (AARP)
It was good to have Walt Grayson filming for WLBT, in Scott County, a couple of weeks ago! His article for October “Fall is in the air, conjuring memories of family” had a funny paragraph in the last part. “I tell folks that Miz Jo taught me to cuss at Tishomingo State Park. Monday night was blissful. No cell phones, no television. Just the crickets. Same Tuesday night, no phones, no television just the crickets. Wednesday night Jo said, ‘If I hear one more damn cricket I'm going to lose my mind.’ Evidently, Miz Jo isn’t from pioneer stock.” (Walt, in my opinion, is one good story teller!)

Tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, the largest fire in history, rumors of wars, the largest hurricane on record in the Atlantic Ocean happened — and people are fighting to take God out of everything? Seems to me God is sending an awfully loud message!!!
If you are going to “Put someone down, put them down on your prayer list!”
How about this change in the weather? It feels so good in the early mornings and late afternoons. It is good to hear the birds during those times too. I suppose we had better enjoy, cause we may just get a true cold snap before long. I have promised myself that I would not complain when cold weather comes since we had such a long hot summer!
Have a blessed week!
