Happy New Year!
“New Years Day marks a date on newly found happiness and a clean slate for many. Celebrating is their opportunity to learn from prior years and make positive changes in their life. It is the oldest holiday still celebrated, dating back to ancient Babylon.
“It began as a pagan custom of sun worship some 2,000 years before the birth of Christ. The set time has changed through the years. It has become a day of resolutions and traditions. The most common concerns diet, exercise, bad habits and other issues of wellness. Some foods considered ‘lucky’ to eat are circular foods, black eyed peas, cabbage and pork.”
This time of year is time to try to keep from getting a cold. “How Doctor’s Do It? Getting through cold season: they check germs at the front door. One of the big barriers is to place bottles of sanitizer right at the entrance of their homes. (Clean hands as soon as walking in) Get their flu shot early to build up immunity in your body. Take a break from exercise, when you're sick exercising below the neck can make things worse. Drink orange juice and hot tea with lemon and honey when feeling under the weather — pure honey has been shown to be better than cough suppressant and than cough medicine. They love a Neti pot filled with saline solution, it cleans out a lot of bacteria that has accumulated. A lot of their patients like over-the-counter nasal decongestants, but if you use those over three days, you can wind up with re-bound congestion or nosebleeds.” (HEALTH MAGAZINE)
“You can’t catch a cold, from getting outside with your head wet, going outside in the cold or from being cold. (Seems our Mother was wrong when they told us these things would give us a cold) You catch a cold from a VIRUS! Wash your hands!”
As the year comes to an end, I urge you to take care of yourself and avoid accidents because spare parts for old models, like us, are no longer in stock!
Please be careful in driving and walking. You can be hit walking in parking lots when vehicles are backing up. Most newer cars have back-up cameras, but don’t take a chance you will be seen! “It takes nine months to be born in this world, but only one second to get taken out.” That’s why I thank God every morning. Just waking up is a Blessing!
“Plan ahead, It wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark.” — “Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian anymore than standing in a garage makes you a car!”
Have a blessed New Year 2019!
