New Year’s Resolutions made?
It is suggested that resolutions should be simple, tangible and shareable. The top ones are always, lose weight or exercise more. It has been noted that fitness centers are really busy the first few weeks of the new year.
I really enjoy going to Forest Baptist Church on Monday and Friday mornings for one hour each day. Getting joints more active and fellowship with others make life more pleasurable. We never get too old to “get moving.”
Don't let the old saying resolutions are made to be broken, be your excuse!
We have some local small business that may not be familiar to some of you. One is Jo’s Fish and Bait Shop. It is on Highway 80 East (1700 East Third St.). They have fresh catfish, shrimp, alligator, crabs and stuffed crabs and frozen red snapper. Chris Bagley is owner, operator and can fix you up with some mighty good seafood.
Recipe for baked fish: Cover fillets on both sides with mayonnaise. Press both sides in buttered Ritz cracker crumbs. Place Pam spray on foil lined pans and then fillets. Bake 400 degrees 18 to 20 minutes depending on size of fillets. Serve with lemon. (Diane Haralson’s recipe). Yum, yum! I have to substitute olive oil for the mayonnaise!
Question: Where do people over 50 looks for their eyeglasses

“A male nurse in Paradise, CA. took his Toyota Tundra truck and helped rescue hospital patients from that town that was completely destroyed by recent fires. His truck was scorched, side mirrors and tail lights were melted. He said it was a ‘perfect roasted marshmallow.’ Toyota heard his story and told him ‘Don’t worry about your truck. We are giving you a new one!’ Many acts of mercy and kindness happened during these fires.”
If you are not a custom to reading the “Opinion” page in the paper, you are missing some good articles. Take last week, for instance, The News Editor, James Phillips wrote “As 2018 ends I'm where I am suppose to be.” I, myself, have come to realize that it takes lots of time to write just one article. Thanks James for your story and your dedication!
“Southern Comfort — When times are tough, your neighbor has your back! When hurricane Florence and Michael hit, church groups swung into action. They offered food and shelter to thousands who had been displaced. The Pittmasters of operation Barbecue Relief smoked enough meat to feed 800,000 meals. Mercy Chef’s filled 6,000 plates a day. ‘Southern Living’ magazine hosted a fund raiser in Birmingham that served thousands of meals and raised over $70,000 to keep food available for future disasters. They said, this was only a drop in the bucket and they could not do a magazine issue without recognizing every day heroes supporting their neighbor’s in tough times.”

I’m great at multitasking! I can listen, ignore and forget all at once!
A Message From God: “My name is God. You hardly have time for me. I love you and will always bless you! I’m always with you. I need you to spend 60 seconds with me this day, today!”
Have a blessed week and share it with others!
