Weather Alert of possible snow and ice!
One good thing about being retired is that you can stay home on days like they are predicting, be as lazy as you want to be and catch up on whatever crosses your mind! I am not a person who will be out in the snow, just enjoy it looking out the window. So let it snow, let it snow!
“When I was young I was scared of the dark! Now when I see my electricity bill I am scared of the lights!”
One wife wrote “my husband and I both have the common cold. He requested a Priest and family to be by his bedside. I'll get right on it as soon as I finish the laundry, wash the dishes and shovel the driveway.”
It is such a relief just knowing those more than 800,000 government workers can go back to work and get their pay checks! Wilbur Ross, Commerce Secretary, said those workers off work should go to the bank and get emergency low interest loan. The Commerce Dept. federal credit union is charging almost 9 percent interest on those emergency loans!
Some of those higher officials, in government not affected by the shutdown, said they are just on a paid vacation! I certainly hope a law is passed to stop the shutdowns! It should have been to cut the governing body’s pay until it was settled. The shoe on their other foot would have been a different story!
Sarah Huckabay Sanders – “At some point Democrats have to decide whether they love this country more than they hate the president! They have to decide that they want to put the safety, security, and diplomacy of our country ahead of their own political games!”
“Let us not seek the Republican answer, or the Democrat answer, but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future.” (John F. Kennedy)

Zellene Posey’s recipe for White Chocolate Bread pudding: 16 pieces of day old white bread, (wheat will not work). Pinch this up in small pieces and put in 9x13 oiled or sprayed pan. Mash this down! Melt 1 stick margarine or butter and add (3) beaten eggs, (2) cups sugar and (1) quart of whole milk – mix really good and pour evenly over the bread. Bake at 350 degrees 30 to 45 minutes, till almost done. Put (1) cup white chocolate and 3/4 stick margarine or butter in microwave till soft enough to blend well. Then add (1) cup confectioners sugar and (1/2) teaspoon vanilla and beat till it is well blended, pour this mixture over cooked bread mixture. Return to oven and let it bake until it comes to bubbling. Take out of oven very careful not to get burned! This is a fantastic dessert and large enough for a big family or good to eat leftover. Thanks to Zellene for sharing! (I have fixed this many times and assure you it’s GOOD!
Have a blessed week during this cold Last week of January!
