Chick-fil-A slammed again for Bible stance
“A LGBT advocacy group is citing Chick-fil-A’S CEO, Dan Cathy’s support of Christianity in their opposition of a Vice President speaking at a military academy symposium. This is based on a statement Cathy made in 2002 that he supports a biblical definition of marriage that prohibits homosexual marriage. “We are very much supportive of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that!” (Chick-fil-A lists 39 consecutive years of sales growth.)

I notice that Bernie Sanders is, again, running for President. You can Google his name and see where he came from and what he stands for. It is a eye opening and you will not hear those facts in his political speeches! Inasmuch as he is a socialist candidate, this statement seems to be applicable. “There are two places only where socialism will work — in Heaven, where it is not needed and in hell where they already have it!” (Winston Churchill)
Joke of the week. “A man and his nagging wife went to Jerusalem. While there his wife passed away. The undertaker told the man he could bury her there for $100. Shipping back would cost $5,000. The man thought about what to do and advised that he was taking her back. The undertaken said “why would you take her back as you could have a beautiful service here?” “No, the husband replied. Long ago a man died here and was buried here and after three days he rose from the dead. I just can’t take that chance!”
“WD-40, is made from fish oil as it’s main ingredient. It is good for many uses and some are reported to be; cleans sinks, as it takes the stain off, shower doors, stoves, removes bugs from cars, removes fog from bathroom mirrors, sticky substance left by duct tape and can be sprayed on fishing lures before fishing. When used inside, be sure to wear a mask and open the windows!
This past Saturday my daughter Pam Jeffries and I were leaving my house about 3:30 p.m. going to Philadelphia for a 40th birthday party of first born grandson, Lee Thompson. Just as we were pulling out from my house Pam wanted me run back inside for a couple of things she needed. (This took probably 10 minutes before we got on the road.). We thought we could miss the tornado weather. Wrong!
Several miles passed Sebastopol we hit some of the hardest rain you could imagine and lots of limbs on the highway and then a pine tree was across road. It was just enough room we could squeeze by it. We finally managed to pull off and stop for a little while. Had I not gone back in my house to get those items, I am sure we would have been in the middle of that storm! God was good in protecting us! Lesson learned — don’t ignore the weather warnings!
Recipe for Mississippi Pot Roast. 2&1/2 lb chuck roast — don’t cut fat off, put in pan with 2 tablespoons of oil and brown on each side). Take meat out of pan and put in cooker add (3/4) cup beef broth, Dump (1) package ranch dressing on top of roast, (1) package of brown gravy mix and (3/4) stick of butter. Put in slow cooker on low for (8) hours. In Insta pot cooker, cook on “meat” selection for 45 minutes and let sit in pot for about (20) minutes. (you can add cooked onions and peppers if desired on top before cooking). I have been told this is delicious, but haven’t tried it. There are other variations and you can Google Mississippi pot roast to check it out!
Always be kind. If you see someone falling behind, walk beside them. If someone is being ignored find a way to include them. If someone has been knocked down, lift them up, always remind people of their worth. Be who you need to be. Just one act of kindness could mean the world to someone!
Have a blessed week and don’t keep it to yourself! God bless!
