Harrison celebrating 99th birthday
Ms. Joyce Harrison is celebrating her 99 years young birthday on Monday, 3/18/19! She was at church Sunday and stood up for songs and prayer. Her son Charles and family, along with a couple of nieces brought her for services. She is certainly a trooper and always has a smile and a hug!
“I’m at a age where my mind still thinks I’m 29. My humor suggests I’m 12 but my body keeps asking if I’m sure I’m not dead yet!”
J.C. And Gwen Nicholas were delighted to have their son, Jamie, wife, June, sons William and Andrew visit for a few days last week. They live in the outskirts of D.C., over in Maryland. Jamie works with Homeland Security at the Pentagon in D.C. (On a trip to D.C. Last fall I saw that huge facility as it looks like a town in itself.) It was good they got home before the grounding of the 737 planes!
We heard this past week that Scott Vaughn, BSU Director at EC, was having severe nosebleeds. He had nasal surgery recently and this was following that surgery. I have just found scripture that, long ago, people believed in reading to stop severe blood loss. (Ezekiel 16.6)
If you have missed the Vowell’s weekly special paper insert, I was told since they have gone digital they would not do the mail-out anymore. You can stop by and pick up a copy. If you have phone capability, or a computer, you can download their app to get this information on line. The plus in this is you can receive free items each week. This past week it was a dozen large eggs and 8 oz. cheese. with a $10. purchase! They, along with Walmart, offer on line ordering and pick up at a designated time! I can see this would stop impulse buying for me!
If you are a critic of daylight savings time, you may appreciate the following. “When told the reason for daylight savings time, the old Indian said - Only the Government would believe you could cut a foot off the top of the blanket, sew it to the bottom and have a longer blanket!"
The news of the college bribery this past week has been really bad! The good thing has been, President Trump is getting a little timeout from news during this time! I was very disappointed in Senator Roger Wicker’s vote this week against the “Emergency Declaration” on border wall security! It is a sad thing that we cannot defend our country against illegals entering by the thousands, or our country spending millions to house and care for detainees at the border!
“Do you find it amazing that during the ‘Mad Cow’ epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Canada, almost 3 years before. They could find the stall she slept in, the night before, in the State of Washington? They could track her calves to their stalls! But, they are unable to locate (11) Million illegal aliens wandering around our country! Maybe, we should give the aliens a cow?”

“God has protected me more times than I can count! So, I can only imagine the times I have been rescued that I don’t even know about. Thank You, God, for always being there even when I don’t know it!”
Did you know a Coke will, remove grease stains from clothing, clean a toilet, clean grout, descale a coffee pot, remove stains from carpet and clean windows, just to name a few name a few things! If it can do all this, what does it do to the human body?
I found out this week that WD-40 will get a stuck zipper unstuck I put on a raincoat, zipped it up almost to my neck. When I started to unzip, it wouldn’t budge! I thought I was going to have to find a neighbor and get it cut off. Fortunately, I finally eased my head out. I sprayed the zipper with WD-40 and it worked!
Have a God blessed week!
