What is our town representing now?
It was an odd coincidence that our EBC Sunday School lesson started out with “Most of us want our hometown to be represented well. We want to take pride in claiming ties to the city in our area we consider home. A city is usually defined by its people more so than by its geography or other features.”
With the recent arrest of illegal immigrants some may say this identifies us, but I beg to disagree. The banding together of our churches, and other organizations, to have a “Food Drive” for those affected by arrests and loss of jobs, speaks loudly what we are representing!
“Every man needs two things to live a successful life. First, he needs a moral code of Right and Wrong. Secondly, He must have a backbone to keep him from being swayed by those with no moral code.” (The word Man represents male and female alike).
Prayer needs: Bert Sharp, Joyce Everett, Sandra Burkes, Truman Bell, Joyce and Harmon Latham, Eddie Westcott, David Alford and Sue Triplet and daughter Kelsey who were injured in a house fire. The husband, father, Willie Triplet, perished in the fire. Sincere sympathy to the families of Willie Triplet, Todd Russell, Jamie Everett, and the Means family in their loss of their loved ones.
There has been a recent article by Mike Huckabee to question this decision. — Interesting Dispatch From Trade War with China — “President Trump has removed a list of items from being subject to the upcoming 10 percent tariffs, because they are too important. These items include; child safety seats, shipping containers, cranes used in port construction....and Bibles.
“If we are going to depend on China to print most of our Bibles, someone had better be proof reading them carefully. As of January, the Chinese government has been alarmed by the growth of Christianity in China. (Approximately 60 Million Believers, that they know of!) They fear that people of faith will standup against unjust actions of their atheist communist government.”
Billionaire, George Soros announced his plan to take down President Trump and his closest allies. He’s already poured 5.1 million dollars against the President. That’s more than double what he spent in the 2016 election. He called the President “A danger to the world.” (George Soros, reportedly, payed the many, many people that demonstrated in many cities across America).
“Weddings should include do you promise to help him find his stuff, that is right in front of him because you will be doing that forever!”

A group of Senior Adults from EBC visited the Mississippi Historical Museum this past Saturday. It was very interesting and informative. I missed out on Mississippi History in school since we lived in Alabama the grade that it was taught. We only had a few minutes to go in the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum so I have intentions of returning one day to go through it. By the way, every third Saturday is a free day. Otherwise, the tickets are $10. for each Museum. One of the employees told us since the opening, in 2017, there have been over 300,000 visitors. One good thing it is is easy to get to as it is close to the fairgrounds.
Do you know that the first French fry was not cooked in France? Where was it cooked then? In Greece.
A credit card company in Canada cancelled all balances due on all of it’s cards! This included student debts! I know there had to have been shouting in the streets after this!
Preacher joke: “Robert told a televangelist to pray for his hearing. After three minutes of violent shaking and trying to push him over backwards, the preacher asks him how was his hearing? Robert said “I don’t know, it doesn’t take place until next Tuesday at the courthouse.”
Have a God blessed week and share your blessings with those you come in contact with! You never know what a smile and kind word will mean to others.
