What can I give Him?
What can I give Him, poor as I am? If I were a Shepherd, I would bring them a Lamb. If I were a wise man, I would do my part, yet what can I give Him? I give Him my heart. (Christine Rossetti)
“The first Christmas after you lose someone is hard. You will feel like not celebrating, but you will go along with it for the kids, for the family. It will be hard. But, you will get through it. You may even raise a smile between tears. If you can, thank God for the Christmases you had with them then light a candle. Start a new tradition in their memory. Next year won’t be as hard, trust me!”
My California family’s church family gave, all those that suffered the loss of homes in the fire, Christmas ornaments. My sister-in-law said she had never cherished holding ornaments ever before. They can’t add to their possessions until they get permanent housing. She said now she has a different feeling toward the homeless people. Their worldly goods are their car and two suitcases of clothes. She feels they are blessed when she sees homeless people with grocery carts holding their worldly goods. It looks like it will be a couple of years before they can rebuild because they are on a long list to get burned buildings, etc. cleared away. Then they will face problem of getting contractors and materials.
It was interesting to read that, after the gunman massacred 49 people in Florida, Chick-fil-A opened their doors on Sunday to feed the hungry people who were waiting in line to give blood and the law enforcement personnel who were working long hours. The next day they provided free chicken biscuits and orange juice to fire fighters, police officers and first responders.
“Maybe that is the reason that Chick-fil-A does more business in its six-day week than McDonalds does in seven days!”

All cell phone numbers were made public this past week. You can add them to a “No Call List” by calling 888-382-1222. You must call on the cell phone you are blocking. Some calls are still legal to call your cell. A good way to tell if it’s one of those, many calls will only list the number and not identify who is calling. If you get a call and there is no one on the line, do not try to call it back. Many times you will take a chance of them stealing your number to place calls using your number. Remember, it’s a crazy world and it could be a thief trying to steal your identity!
“A Song Was Heard at Christmas” A song was heard at Christmas to wake the midnight sky. A Saviour’s birth, and Peace on Earth, and Praise to God on high. The Angels sang at Christmas with all the host above. Still we sing the Newborn King His glory and His Love. (Timothy Smith)
Have a God Blessed Christmas and remember “He is the reason for the season”!
