Few people have come into my life and have left such a huge footprint. Jerry and Nancy are two of those people. From early days on North Davis Street to marriage, children and grandchildren, Nancy and Jerry have remained true to their God and true to their family. Things happen to all, but none have weathered the storm like these two have done. And with heads held high.
Thank you, Nancy and Jerry, for being true, kind, loving human beings...always putting the other first.
We can learn a lot from your life and the decisions you have made in the best interest of you and your family.
Next week, you and Jerry will celebrate 50 years of wedded bliss. Easy? Sometimes, but that happens to everyone. It is how you have handed your life which has made the difference.
Nancy has her wedding gown hanging by the closet, along with the dress that her mother, Edna Earle Dearman wore at the wedding. Special gifts are placed along side the dresses, with other wedding memories. How many of us would put together such a wonderful remembrance of such a special occasion. Jerry is not feeling well right now, but they are working together, as a team, to make sure that their children and grandchildren will feel a part of that beautiful ceremony.
I know. I was there 50 years ago as the community gathered for this glorious occasion. Happy 50th, Nancy and Jerry. And may I quote my dad, as he has always remarked, “This is a toast to Nancy Dearman and Jerry Lee. And may they have the same love and respect for each other during the next 50 years.”
And the Lord said, “Amen.”
