Barbara Gatewood returned to Forest on Monday, accompanied by daughter Alicia Joyner of Tallahassee, where she had spent Thanksgiving week. Barbara enjoyed visiting with the Joyners and especially enjoyed seeing Alicia's beautiful Christmas decorations.
Chip and Sandra Stevens of Flowood visited Reid, Natalie and Sarah Stevens in Forest on Sunday and attended services at Forest Baptist Church.
Thanksgiving for James and Carol Palmer Threadgill at the James Clifton hunting camp with all the family, and grandkids was really extra special! It was baby Palmer’s first Thanksgiving. And, of course, Will got the big buck!
Scott Palmer was at Clifton Plantation, near Greenwood, for Thanksgiving,, where he joined his sister Carol and James Threadgill of Tupelo, Will, Amy, William, Catherine and Mary Threadgill and Gina Yauger (Amy’s mom) of Memphis and Charlie, Mallory and Palmer Threadgill of Denver, Colorado.
Can you believe Jean Underwood Cox is a “Great Nene” — and for the second time!! Welcome to precious grandson Dawson Scott Spence!! What a blessed Thanksgiving their family enjoyed.
We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Vicki Little Waters who died last week. Vicki had been living in Bay Springs and was the daughter of the late Clyde and Maxine Little. No services are planned at this time.
It was announced last week that Spence Sims, grandson of Loren O. McKibbens, (and great grandson of the late Oliver and Maybeth Mitchell Ormond of Forest) has been awarded for the third time this season Big South Men’s Basketball Freshman of the Week honors. Spence scored 19 points in the final game of the tournament. Among the family members attending this Thanksgiving tournament near Warrenville Beach in (UNCW) Wilmington, North Carolina, were Terry and Merridy McKibbens Sims, Steele, Trice and Tyke Sims, and Loren McKibbens. Congratulations, Oliver Spence Sims!!
Congratulations to Bazley Grace Moore of Boston, Massachusetts, who won several sashes and crowns Iast week in Orlando, Florida, before becoming America’s Junior Miss. (The long time Hollymont Camper’s participation in the competition was noted in last week’s column, but the announcement of her winning the pageant was not released until after the paper went to press.)
