It seems that Christmas Holidays were extremely meaningful and traditional, as the children and grandchildren of Judge Tom and Norma Ruth Lee gathered on Sunday before Christmas at the Germantown, Tennessee home of Norma Ruth’s brother, John and Janice Robbins for the traditional Robbins Family Christmas. John Robbins has experienced some very challenging health conditions which required hospitalization but John and Janice were overjoyed to be surrounded by extended family of nieces and nephews who cherish their Uncle John. Hearts were thankful!!
On Christmas Eve the Forest home of Judge Tom and Norma Ruth Lee was very active as the children and grandchildren joined in with all holiday cooking and visiting. They were all happy to welcome friends who stopped by for a Christmas catch up visit as they marvel at how grown up the grandchildren are. They, like so many others through the years, treasure their special memories of times in Forest.
Surprising the number of Mississippians who spent time in the Southwest this January!
While in Arizona, over the holidays, Todd and Lorie Red Miller added a memorable stopover to the Grand Canyon.
Carol Threadgill of Tupelo arrived in Forest last Sunday and was an overnight guest in the home of her brother, Scott Palmer.
Happy to hear there’s a revival of the old fashioned Nab’s ‘n Coke Party, returning to the Kats Kave on July 18, 2026 at 1:30 PM!
So glad to catch up on the Christmas and New Years activities of some other Forest residents (and former residents) who contributed so much to the enrichment of Forest.
It is always wonderful to hear from Roseann Lynn and evidently several more have heard from her since our last column entry. Roseann is now a happy and blessed resident of Bella Vista Retirement Community in Asheville, North Carolina. None of us were surprised at all to learn that she was honored by being named the first ever “Volunteer of the Month” at Bella Vista. We can look around Forest and recall so many things that Roseann was foremost in bringing to Forest, including (along with the Forest Garden Club) the beautiful Blue Star sign out in front of the Forest City Hall. Roseann’s New Year’s wish for Forest was for year 2026 to be filled with peace, happiness, good health and wonderful moments to treasure. I am certain we all wish the same for Roseann. She is genuinely missed in Forest.
Please send your news for the column to lmckibbens@aol.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
