Forest residents are SO EXCITED about the renovation of the old Palace Theater building on East Main Street!! If you’ve not driven by, you’re in for a treat. The new owner of the building, Summers Lee, is doing a fantastic job in restoring the building. The exterior of the building is complete and the interior is entering its final stages.
A memorial service is planned for Dr. Wayne Terry Lamar on January 31st at Oxford United Methodist Church. Visitation is scheduled at 10 a.m. followed by the service at 11. Sincere sympathy to his wife, Linda Lackey Lamar.
Alicia Joyner of Tallahassee arrived on Tuesday for a visit in Forest with her mom, Barbara Gatewood.
Missy McKibbens Roper enjoyed visiting with lots of friends, old and new in Oxford this week, following a successful Camp Hollymont showing!
Glad to hear Hartie McCormick is out of the hospital. Prayers continue for a speedy recovery.
The former Forest High School Bearcat teammates, always enjoy their monthly lunches — and we always enjoy hearing about them! The group always reminisces, and agrees that they were blessed to grow up in Forest, among mostly wonderful memories. Teammates attending the recent luncheon were Ronny Jones, Freddie Bagley, Malon Reid, Bill Pace, Drew Hunt, Jackie Calhoun, Ralph Brown, Bubby Johnston, James May, and Steve Clark. The group enjoyed another delicious meal at the Main Street Café in Collins. Steve Clark is the social chairman and selects where they dine each month. We look forward to hearing about next month’s get together, and hopefully more Bearcats will join them!
Please send your Forest news to us at lmckibbens@aol.com. We look forward to hearing from you and sharing with other interested friends in the community.
