Please remember January is Slavery & Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Please take the time to heighten your awareness of this subject. People are being kidnapped for various reasons including sex trafficking and organ extraction. There are also people being forced to work and turn their paycheck over to a particular person or organization. All this is illegal.

Please also be aware of your surroundings and if possible travel in groups. Express the importance of never getting comfortable with your surroundings and always look for warning signs. Keep an eye out for suspicious activity such as people sitting in areas such as parking lots and parks.

Human Trafficking mostly impacts women and girls and forced labor generates $150.2 billion in illegal profits globally. For more information and facts visit DoSomething.org.
