Welcome 2026
Have you made your list of New Year’s Resolutions? The most common one is “Get on a diet and Llose weight.” Here are some goals, if you haven’t already picked yours. Put God first. Pray more. Read the Bible. Love like Jesus. Stay away from conflict. Trust the Lord God with all your heart and give thanks in all things. Dear God, please open every door in 2026 for the lost to find salvation in you!
These holidays create an extra hard time to lose a loved one! How a person grieves is influenced by the relationship they had with the person they lost, also what their religion and culture has taught.
There are five stages of grief: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. Remember, not everyone experiences every stage and there is no set order. (From experience, I found out that some churches have Grief Clinics and going to First Baptist Grief Clinic, in Jackson, gave me a chance to share with other participants my feelings. Healing is not a quick procedure. You never get over it, you get through it!
Important things you should never say on your phone, because scammers can steal your voice! AI has advanced far beyond its original purpose and can replicate, with accuracy, and pose serious risks. Your voice can be used to authorize transactions for contracts and subscriptions. Avoid giving personal information. Never answer unknown callers, avoid unsolicited calls and monitor your accounts. Treat your voice like a password to safeguard both your identity and your assets!
I understand that Mississippi has some strange state laws. Here’s some: Walking a dog without a Lease: Sneezing in Church and disturbing a Church Service; No swearing in public. While not enforced today, it speaks of Mississippi’s cultural emphasis and respect. Bizarre law: Cyclists should keep hands on handlebars at all times, and Fishing without a permit has been around for generations ensuring wildlife conservation and responsible fishing.
Snow Storms In Sonora Dessert in Scottsdale, Arizona: This snow storm created a big contrast between the Dessert’s iconic cactus and blankets of white snow. This unusual scene highlights the rugged terrain rocky hills and resilient vegetation under winters touch making it a unexpected white wonderland! (My parents carried us to Southern California several times, in my growing up years. One of older brothers settled there, after his discharge from world War 11. This was long before AC was even a dream. In daytime the dessert had almost unbearable heat. When the sun set it would drop temperature to unbearable lows. Thankfully our car did have a heater!)
Don’t get excited about the annual raise in Social Security! I’ve read Medicare is going up, double that! But I am certainly thankful we have Medicare Insurance coverage!
My best wishes that all will have a blessed and happy 2026! Stay safe and God Bless!
