Happy Birthday Week Tim Beeland
Tim, I hope your weekend of celebration was not delayed by the storm warnings. I would also like to “Thank You” for keeping our local SCT in circulation. So many county newspapers have been closed and you have shouldered the burden of the load of keeping the doors open and mail active. Many people may be aware of the news that it is available “On Line” but many of us want to keep the printed news. Tim, keep up the good work and welcome to Medicare!
Some may not know that “Spirit of Morton’ has changed ownership and taken the new name “Mississippi Spirit.” Bingham Moncrief purchased this several years ago to keep it from closing. A big “Thank You” to Bingham for the keeping it alive! (I share my column with that paper weekly. I have found that writing each week is like a visit with long time friends and making new ones!)
A wife shared that her husband suggested that she take a nap on their road trips. But she asked who would give him his helpful information — the light is red, that car is stopping or you missed your turn?
Drivers. . . It’s funny y’all can merge at Chick’fil-A, but not on the highway!
Arkansas was the first State to order (Act #636) a Chinese State-owned company to digest its farm holdings. This action was taken against Syngernta Seeds LLC. Due to the company’s failure to comply with Arkansas’ foreign ownership laws. The State also imposed a $280,000 fine for failing to disclose the ownership in a timely order. Thanks to Governor, Sarah Hucklebee Sanders.”
When to drink water: 2 glasses after walking; before meals; after bathing; and before you go to bed.
“Missing in History: America’s first female Astronaut, Marie Mitchell, who discovered a Comet in 1847 was the first woman elected to the American Academy of Arts and Science’s: and the first Astronaut Professor at Vassar College. As a child, she was so fascinated with astronomy and mathematics, her Astronaut father, William, taught her about various astronomical instruments. He built an observation deck on the top of their house and supplied the instruments needed. A crater, on the moon, was named after her. She was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame.
A trucker stops at a red light and a blonde catches up with him, knocks on the glass and says, “Hi, my name is Heather, you are losing some of your load. The driver ignores her. She stopped him the second time and he still ignores her — the 3rd time she tells him again. The driver finally looks at her and said MY NAME IS KEVIN! IT’S SNOWING! I’M DRIVING A SALT TRUCK!
When have you felt too far from God? How has HIS mercy toward you changed your compassion towards others? “The LORD your GOD is with you, the MIGHTY WARRIOR who saves.” (ZEPHANIAH 3:17) Taken from “Our Daily Bread.”
Have a GOD blessed and safe week!
