Happy New Year 2024
We are starting the new year with sad news for the Pine Tree Farmers! A Beetle infestation is causing tragic losses for them! I understand the tree cannot be harvested and must be destroyed. If you see pine trees turning yellow, it could very easily be those beetles and not from our extreme drought !
This is the year we will be able to vote on the Presidential Election. I prefer the man who gave up his rich lifestyle to save our country over the man who gave up this country for a rich lifestyle!
The ‘Wizard of Oz’ is 84 years old. If Dorothy were to encounter men with no brains, no heart or no courage, she wouldn’t be in Oz. . . . She’d be in Washington D.C.
This generation will never understand what a Christmas ‘Sears Roebuck’ Catalog meant to us older folks! You could look and hope to at least get one item from Santa!
Please stop crying about the Pre-school Christmas play. Talking about, “I knew Little ‘Knuck, Knuck could do it!” All he did was color and eat Graham crackers! Look at his shoes still on the wrong foot. Just remember that 75% of the time you get to spend with your kid will be over by the time they turn 12 and 90% is gone by the time they are 18. So, enjoy, be present those sweet years. It’ll be over soon! Your cellphone has already replaced your watch, camera, calendar, and alarm clock. Do not let it replace your family!
There are three stages of life — Wanting Stuff — Accumulating Stuff. — Getting rid of stuff! (I have experienced the last — getting rid of Stuff! It’s awfully hard to let go, but after you get started it gets much easier to do!). I found an Estate Sales couple from Newton, Mike Harris and his wife, and it made my downsizing move much easier! I recommend them highly! My Barndominion is coming along good and hope to move in by February 1st. In the meantime, I am living with my precious daughter, Janet, and her husband, Harry Culpepper. I tell everyone that I’m living in the Holiday Inn — with meals furnished!
