Congratulaions and well done to my husband, Greg
What a blessing to have had my family all together for the holidays this year. Although the holidays can be stressful, hectic and tiresome, it is all worthwhile to have the opportunity to see our loved ones and have precious and valuable time together. This becomes more apparent to me each year and especially in light of the tragedies that have occurred in our communities recently.
It is time once again for making New Year’s resolutions. Most people have made them at some point in their life, although few will follow through. In fact, according to U.S. News, approximately 80 percent of resolutions fail by the second week of February, so the odds are against you. The most popular resolutions are usually to eat better and exercise more. Someone who beat the odds and is capable of following through with their resolutions is my husband, Greg. He committed to run 2,017 miles over the course of the year and he accomplished that goal on December 27th! Congratulations and well done!
Music students of Irene Martin and Emily Baker were presented in a Christmas recital recently at New Liberty Baptist Church. Piano performances were by Khaleb, Innaius and Adam Shepard, Brooklyn Chisolm, Samantha Gardner, Cali Tillman, Sam Bradshaw, Destiny Phillips, Calei Gilstrap, Lillie Bradshaw, Gage Lee, Kylie and Brynnley Powell, Aleyna Ivy and Blake and Brayden Hines. Lillie Bradshaw, accompanied by Blake Hines, played violin and Ethan Powell, cellist, was accompanied by his mother, Kisty Powell. The recital was followed by a fun time of finger food and fellowship.
The Martins, Irene, Steve, Karon, Mary and Tara, met Russell in Baton Rouge last Friday and spent the day at the zoo. After Christmas Eve supper and gifts, they joined several other families Christmas day for the annual meal and fellowship in the home of Mrs. Grace Russell.
