Support our teams
The Scott Central Rebel Marching Band performed in the 2019 Marching Band Championship on Saturday where they received all superior ratings. The band is under the direction of Mrs. Kathleen Riser and Mr. Ronnie Holder. Mrs. Riser stated after the championship that she is, “extremely excited today for these kiddos. They have fought long and hard for this while overcoming adversity mid-season. I am so proud of each and every one of them for all their hard work! Love my Rebels!”
Last Thursday night, the Scott Central Rebels defeated the Lake Hornets. Scott Engle, a Fellowship of Christian Athletes Representative, posted about an awesome experience he had at that game. His post stated:
“Great game between two very tough class 2A schools. Scott Central vs Lake. It was a heavyweight 15 round slugfest. Scott Central gets the victory 13-7. But I think the real winners are the citizens of Scott County. I stood near the teams all night. The first game I have attended this year where there was no showboating, no cheap shots, no coaching melt downs and for the first time in Lord knows when no obscene language. Either team. If you are from either of these schools share this with your neighbors. FCA proud.”
Both teams will advance to the first round of the 2019 2A South playoffs. The Hornets will play the Enterprise Bulldogs. The Rebels will face Bay Springs at home on Friday, November 8th. Kickoff at 7 p.m. Scott County folks, lets support our local teams this Friday as they strive to move up to round two of the playoffs.
