CAME ON FOR CONSIDERATION THE MATTER of the Death of Bobby Luckett, Town Alderman, on January 2, 2024. Whereupon motion of Kimbo Gladney, seconded by Chad Hillman, and unanimously carried, the Board does hereby call for a special election to fill the unexpired term of Bobby Luckett. The Board directs the Clerk of the Board to post notice of a special election, pursuant to law, with qualifying date to end January 24, 2023, with the special election to be held Tuesday, February 13, 2024, said notice of special election being spread upon the minutes herewith.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION
Pursuant to Section 23-15-857, Mississippi Code Annotated, the Town of Lake does hereby give notice of special election to fill the vacancy of Bobby Luckett, Town Alderman, who died in office on December 16, 2023. A special election will be held by the Town between legal voting hours on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.
Candidates shall qualify by filing a petition with the Municipal Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on January 24, 2024, being a date at least twenty (20) days before the date of the election. The petition shall be signed by not less than fifteen (15) qualified electors.
