Polls open 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday
There will be several contested seats on the August 8 Democratic and Republican Primary Ballots in Scott County including that of Tax Collector/Assessor, Republican ticket; Supervisor Beat 1, Democratic ticket; Supervisor Beat 4, Republican ticket; Supervisor Beat 5, Republican ticket; Justice Court Judge Post 1, Republican ticket; Constable Post 1, Republican ticket; Coroner, Republican ticket; and Election Commissioner, Dist. 4, Republican ticket. All other races are either uncontested on the Republican or Democratic tickets or uncontested all together.
In person absentee balloting is currently underway and the Scott County Circuit Clerk’s office will be open until noon Saturday for last minute voters.

The slate for statewide and district offices will have Scott County voters casting their ballots in four different districts for State Representative based on where they live under the new redistricting plan.
The northwest portion of the county, including the city of Morton, will be represented by whomever wins the election in District 75. That seat is currently held by Representative Tom Miles who is running for Chancery Clerk.
The candidates in District 75 are:
• Celeste Hurst, Republican
• Ryshonda Beechem, Independent
North Forest and the Hillsboro and Clifton areas of the county will now fall into District 27. The candidates in that district are:
