Funeral services for Jamie Gilbert were conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from the McDonald Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Mangrum and Mr. Timmy Lathem, cousin, officiating. Interment followed in the McDonald Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mr. Gilbert, age 64, a resident of Lena, passed away at his home on Saturday, September 11, 2021. An avid outdoorsman, Jamie enjoyed the atmosphere of the woods, duck hunting, deer hunting and spending time at the deer camp with his hunting buddies. He also enjoyed the game of golf. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He was a retired mechanic, having been employed with the Chevrolet Corporation (27 years), Conway Freight (10 years), and Helmrich and Payne Drilling (5 years).
Survivors include his wife: Tammy Mason Gilbert; two sons: Brent Gilbert and his fiancé, Nikki Fletcher and Jayce Gilbert; his mother: Mrs. Bobbie Sue Cockrell Gilbert; two brothers: McHenry Gilbert, Jr., and his wife Jan of Ludlow and Tim Gilbert and his wife, Janice of Leesburg; two sisters also survive: Pamela Jones of Leesburg, and Connie Crawford and her husband, Mike of Clifton; two grandchildren: Cameron Gilbert and Kay’Leigh Edwards; several nieces and nephews.
Jamie is preceded in death by his father: Mr. McHenry Gilbert, Sr. and one daughter: Jamie Lynn Gilbert Kennedy of Lena.
Pallbearers were Shannon Gilbert, Robbie Gilbert, Mickey Brown, Chance Bates, Jason Boone and Brock Richards.
Visitation was one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Wednesday.
Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton served the GIlbert family.
