Mary Latain Calhoun Blossom, 95, of Forest, MS, departed this life to be with her Lord on October 7, 2021. Visitation was at Forest Presbyterian Church, Forest, MS on Sunday, October 10, 2021, from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM. Services followed at 3:30 PM with Bro. Mark Smith officiating under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services. There was no graveside service.
Latain was born on October 4, 1926, to Dale and Nelia Calhoun in Harperville, MS. She was married to Charles William Blossom, Sr. for 62 years. She was a member of Forest Presbyterian Church and worked as a floral designer at Mapp’s Florist for over 20 years. Charles and Latain enjoyed traveling with their friends in the Airstream Club, visiting 49 states and Canada.
Latain is preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Blossom; parents, Dale and Nelia Calhoun; step father, Spurgeon Young; sister, Irene Townsend; brother, W.L. (Dub) Young; grandchild, Stewart Jason Blossom. She is survived by her sons, Sammy (Elaine) Blossom of Flora, MS, Bill (Karen) Blossom of Forest, MS; sisters, Ruby Hamilton of Forest, MS, Sherrie Johnson of Morton, MS and Lucy Young of Vicksburg, MS; eight grandchildren, twelve great-children.
Pallbearers were Mike Blossom, Benjamin Blossom, Jonathan Blossom, Reid Blossom, William Blossom and Bo Blossom.
