Paid Political Announcement
I am Hampton Gardner and I am running for Senate, District 31. This district includes Newton County, Scott County, and a section of Lauderdale County. I am honored to have received this opportunity to serve this great state that has been my home for the past 29 years.
I have been self-employed for 39 years and founded the Hampton Company National Surety in Decatur, MS when I moved here in 1992. Today, the Hampton Company stands tall with Three major insurance companies, Bankers Insurance Company from Florida, Financial Casualty Surety from Texas and AIA Insurance Company out of Florida, and has licensed insurance agents statewide. Further, a little over two years ago, I received my license to teach classes after having been approved through the Mississippi Department of Insurance.
Throughout the past 15 years, I was blessed with the opportunity to begin the Victorian Gardens subdivision in Decatur. Currently, there are 17 homes in the subdivision with 6 more open lots ready for new home construction.
Also, I am currently a proud member of a new association in Decatur, MS known as Decatur Rebound. I spearheaded the group’s promotion of Treat Street. Treat Street provides the people of Decatur and Newton County a free, safe environment for the children to trick-or-treat each Halloween. It has been a joy to watch this grow by leaps and bounds each year.
Also, I was honored to be pronounced Decatur’s Grand Marshall by the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce. This was an outstanding and very humbling award to receive.
As I run for this Senator position, I am reminded of the motto that I have always stood behind. “Never give up and never quit.” As a softball coach for my daughters’ teams, my goal was to teach those girls to stay the course, run the race, and give their very best. I have tried to teach my children the same moral. If they start something, they know they have to see it through and give it their best — win, lose, or draw. This Senate opportunity is something of importance to all of us.
For the past 7 years, I have had the privilege to work alongside people in the Mississippi Legislation. I have walked the halls of the Jackson Capitol building working with both the Senate and the House. I have had the chance to write and create bills and to help stop bills that were not beneficial to our people. Being elected Mississippi Senator of District 31 will be nothing new for me. In fact, I wish every day that I was already there on the floor working for you.
My wife, Tammie Gardner, and I together have been blessed with 7 children and 18 grandchildren. We are active members of First Assembly of Meridian, MS. We are invested in the future of this great state. We want to see Mississippi improve and prosper for the sake of your family and ours. I say all of this to say, I hope you will consider me as your next Senator. Thank you for your vote, August 6, 2019.
